Product Description

Epoxidized Soybean Oil (ESO/ESBO) is one of the most readily available and cost-effective vegetable oils globally. It is produced through the oxidation of soybean oil with hydrogen peroxide and acetic or formic acid. As a bio-based chemical, ESO is increasingly used to replace traditional phthalate plasticizers like Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP) due to its superior biodegradability and low cost.

Key Applications: Used as a plasticizer and stabilizer in PVC and its copolymers to maintain flexibility. It also functions as a pigment dispersing agent, acid/mercaptan scavenging agent, and an epoxy reactive diluent.

Beyond PVC, epoxidized soybean oil and related epoxides serve as essential raw materials for functional fluids, fuel additives, polyol replacements, surfactants, adhesives, sealants, and UV-cure applications in specialized inks and coatings.
